Link to our competition? Are we crazy?!

Listed below are some suppliers that we’ve identified as being not totally useless! We understand that most of our customers are going to be discerning enough to shop around the internet as more and more small companies (especially a lot of warehouse based outdoor equipment sites) pop up. Therefore we’re confident to list these guys as reasonable alternatives. We feel that we can offer better customer service than all of them and hopefully better technical knowledge of using the product than most of them!

We also try to stock items that are good quality and fit for the outdoors whilst keeping a keen eye on products that are manufactured in an environmentally conscious manner. This is something that our competitors may have overlooked in their quest to sell the latest gear as quickly as possible, rather than what is the best gear for the individual and the planet. We do this because we’re trying to be completely honest about the way we want to run and expand our company. Needle Sports - UK specialist selling mountaineering, rock climbing and hill walking equipment although they are most reknowned for their climbing gear.

Rock and Run - Cumbria based retailer, operating only online these days.

Planet Fear - Back up and running after a bit of a transition, this place has some nice articles and seems to be once again bang up to date.

Cotswold Outdoor - A popular site which specializes in more mainstream gear such as Berghaus and Buffalo.

Field and Trek - Outdoor retailer which focuses on the camping and footwear side of things.

Snow and Rock - Does exactly what is says on the tin, a large chain of shops selling outdoor gear with emphasis on skiing.

Ellis Brigham - Another big chain dealing in ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.

Up and Running - A chain of shops which used to focus on athletic running gear but have diversified into fell running now that it’s the in thing!

Tiso - Well known in Scotland but not so much down here, they seem to be going down the Millets / Blacks route stocking gear such as Berghaus and Karrimor.
